Threadline Supports 826CHI
Category: News2017 was a memorable year for Threadline. In August, we launched with the belief that organizations could play a more positive role in the life narratives of the people they serve. In a world where most marketing campaigns focus on manipulation, believing this is possible takes some measure of courage. Our partners and clients were among the brave to believe in the idea.
We are forever grateful.
This is our first season of the ancient practice of sending clients and partners a gift for the holidays. While we are fascinated by the innovative ways food can be covered in chocolate, we wanted to offer something with more substance and impact.
Threadline is donating to 826CHI, the Chicago chapter of 826 National, on our clients’ and partners’ behalf. 826CHI is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Their services are structured around the understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention, and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success.
Threadline believes narrative threads run through our lives. Becoming more comfortable with how stories are formed, how they impact others, and their role in engaging the public not only empowers young people to develop their literary skills but equips them to shape their own future stories.
Storytellers will be the leaders of the future. We’re honored to support 826CHI’s efforts to equip Chicago’s youth with the tools they need to lead us.
